In this edition of the Spotlight, Henkel tells us about the innovations it will be presenting at drupa 2024, in Düsseldorf, Germany, from May 28th-7th June.
Practical, safe and, above all, sustainable: drupa 2024 offers experts from the printing and packaging industries a platform for high-quality knowledge transfer and intensive networking.
As one of the leading providers of adhesives and coatings for the packaging industry, Henkel Adhesive Technologies will be presenting innovations for the circular economy and a reduced carbon footprint at the global trade fair. From flexible laminations to paper applications and specialty tapes and labels, Henkel offers a broad portfolio of sustainable adhesives and coatings to meet the requirements of the packaging and print industry.
At drupa, Henkel’s focal topics will include the use of functional coatings to reduce the layers of film as part of the downgauging process, as well as the presentation of solvent-free adhesive alternatives. In the field of recycling, Henkel Adhesive Technologies will showcase a variety of solutions for paper packaging, tapes, labels, coatings and laminations.
This includes its RE range, which enhances the recyclability of packaging. One of the product highlights is Aquence PS 3017 RE, a water-based acrylic adhesive that was developed for olefin-based film labels on washable PET bottles. It makes the process of removing the labels from the bottles easier and more energy efficient, while the purity and value of the recycled PET bottle are also increased.
At the open platform “touchpoint packaging”, Damien Fourcade, sustainability manager packaging at Henkel, and Martin Hilgenstock, senior manager in business development at Henkel, will explore the dynamic landscape of the packaging industry on May 31, 2024. They will shed light on issues concerning recyclability, the transition from plastic to paper and the need for faster market launches. In their presentation, they will outline strategies for possible collaborations across the value chain as well as new solutions that combine both sustainability and company growth.
At Henkel’s exhibition stand, drupa visitors can find out for themselves just how important strategic partnerships are for a sustainable packaging industry. Across two partner days, the company will combine its expertise with cyclos-HTP Institute, a renowned institute assessing and certifying the recyclability of packaging and goods.
You can arrange an appointment in advance for an expert discussion at the exhibition stand with Henkel and both partner companies via our Drupa landing page: Henkel at DRUPA 2024 - Henkel Adhesives (henkel-adhesives.com)
