SCREEN Graphic Solutions Co., Ltd. has finalized the development of its PacJet FL830, a new water-based inkjet system specifically designed for the flexible packaging market that is currently scheduled for release around March 2021.

It is the company’s view that material and marketing trends are driving a growing requirement for diversified, small lot printing capabilities with shorter turnaround times and greater personalization.

Alongside these trends, SCREEN has identified growing calls from industry participants for digital systems that are able to deliver both high quality and rapid throughput for full-scale production applications.

The company’s new water-based inkjet printing system is specially designed for flexible packaging and can reportedly handle media up to 830 millimetres wide at speeds of up to 75 meters per minute. It is also apparently capable of printing at a resolution of 1,200 dpi using CMYK and white water-based inks that conform to relevant food safety regulations. SCREEN argues that these features allow it to deliver both the excellent safety and rich colour expression that is essential for the food products industry.

The new product also supposedly demonstrates responsiveness for small lot jobs of less than 4,000 meters. At present, it can handle both PET and OPP media, and SCREEN is working to further expand compatibility based on industry requirements.
