All4Labels has introduced its STARPACK solution for product bundling, made from renewable and FSC-certified materials and designed to replace conventional plastic packaging.
The new solution also aims to minimize resource depletion and is part of All4Labels STAR range of labelling and packaging solutions, seeking to improve the environmental impact of packaging. The company states STARPACK can be used by brands in various sectors including food, healthcare and home care, with a flexible design allowing for customization. It adds that the solution has received the Liderpack Award in the Labelling and Packaging Decoration category.
Gabriela Neves Ferri, vice president of global R&D and sustainability at All4Labels, said: “With STARPACK we are transforming the packaging industry by reducing plastic use by an impressive 80%, offering brand owners a valid alternative to traditional plastic packaging. This product not only meets the growing market demand for sustainable solutions, but it also empowers brands on their way to a more responsible future.”
Back in April, Thomas Weber, then content manager at ATS-Tanner, gave his thoughts on whether banding can serve as a viable alternative to traditionally resource-intensive labelling and bundling techniques, as well as the ways it is more efficient than traditional options.
This summer, Antalis Packaging announced its new range of plastic-free strapping machines for cotton twine, said to offer a ‘100% natural’ alternative to traditional strapping. Antalis stated the machines use cotton and recycled cotton which are biodegradable after use, in an effort to reduce plastic from packaging lines.
As part of our Finalist Interview series ahead of the Sustainability Awards, we spoke to Paptic in August about its renewable material, designed to be a recyclable material alternative to pack surface-sensitive items and nominated in the Commercialized Renewable Materials category. The material is said to be scalable, FSC certified, and recyclable with cardboard.
