Husky Injection Molding Systems, a leading industrial technology provider to the plastics processing community, has announced its participation at Interplastica 2018 in Moscow, with a booth in Hall 2.1 (#21E30).

After not participating in the show for a few years, Husky is returning to Interplastica to highlight its range of innovative solutions for a variety of markets, with a booth dedicated to its Medical and Specialty Packaging business unit.

“Russia and the surrounding regions are of significant interest to Husky, and we are excited to be back at Interplastica again to showcase the innovative technologies we have developed,” said Haim Za’afrani, Husky’s Vice President of Packaging. “There are a lot of exciting advances occurring here, and we can offer a variety of products and services for a true collaboration with local customers to help grow their businesses.”

At Booth 21E30 in Hall 2.1, Husky will be displaying a variety of injection molding solutions for the medical and specialty packaging markets. Under the Schöttli brand name, Husky manufactures precision, highly-engineered tooling for the production of plastic medical applications. On display will be a variety of target medical parts that Schöttli manufactures molds for, showcasing the company’s ability to mitigate risk in the manufacturing process. Recently, Husky announced a strategic win with Pascal Medical in Russia, who has chosen Husky to be its partner in the creation of an industry-leading manufacturing organization for the production of sterile, disposable medical products. Pascal Medical has installed 12 Husky systems so far, and utilized Husky’s services for everything from the planning for a 10,000 square meter factory and syringe design development, to the selection of assembling machines, clean room suppliers and personnel.

As the world’s most trusted partner for consumer packaging solutions, Husky will also be highlighting its range of tooling and system capabilities for the manufacture of specialty packaging, including closures and thinwall packaging, as well as its Multi-Layer Technology. With Husky’s high-capability solution and its ability to precisely dose the barrier layer, the company is able to offer a distinct competitive advantage to its packaging customers, with a significant increase in design freedom. Husky has seen great success with its Multi-Layer Technology for PET applications, and with this new expansion into other types of packaging, it hopes to capture the vast future runway of opportunities to help customers expand into adjacent markets.

Husky’s Multi-Layer Technology is an integrated solution for packaging applications that offers more flexible material properties for enhanced package design and performance, allowing customers to consider more attractive packaging options over alternative materials, such as metal cans, cartons, glass and high-density polyethylene (HDPE). With the highest ever system capability, Multi-Layer Technology can produce packages with a wide range of barrier content, while delivering up to 50% savings on barrier material costs for some applications. Multi-Layer Technology for packaging combines the benefits of Husky’s high-performing HyperSync™ system technology with an advanced melt delivery system and sophisticated controls to deliver all-new capability with a favorable cost profile. This capability ensures the precise distribution of barrier material and enables design freedom across a wide range of applications. Built upon the HyperSync™ platform, Multi-Layer Technology for packaging has no requirements for special tooling or equipment, making this a drop-in solution that still benefits from all future technology advancements.
