Stora Enso has appointed Markus Mannström Executive Vice President for the Biomaterials division as of 1 June 2017. He has been the group’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and a member of the Group Leadership Team since 2015. Mannström will replace Juan Carlos Bueno, who has served as Executive Vice President since 2011 and led the Biomaterials division since its creation in 2012, and who will now leave Stora Enso to find new challenges outside the company.

“I would like to thank Juan for his contributions in taking our Biomaterials business forward and developing our new business opportunities. I wish him all the best in his future career. And I am happy to welcome Markus to take this new opportunity in accelerating the development of one of our strategic growth businesses,” says Stora Enso’s CEO Karl-Henrik Sundström.

Markus Mannström has been at Stora Enso since 2001, working on several large investment and R&D projects, including General Manager of Stora Enso’s Guangxi project in China. He is currently heading the group’s technology, investment and R&D function. He has an MSc degree in Paper Technology and is based in Helsinki.
