Signode has introduced its new Octopus Prestige stretch wrapper, designed for high-volume operations and said to combine ‘record-breaking’ speed with improved reliability for end-of-line packaging.
Key features of the new stretch wrapper include high wrapping speed, seeking to help plants boost throughput and meet demanding delivery schedules; top down service access, enabling all maintenance to be performed efficiently at floor level; and simplified mechanics with fewer sensors and adjustments for improved uptime.
According to Signode, the Octopus Prestige also has reduced film usage thanks to the new Double-S film carriage system that helps improve film conversion and sustainability, and superior load stability made possible by enhanced flexibility to apply the right containment force throughout the wrapping cycle.

In related news, Zeus Packaging unveiled its Apollo Pallet Wrapping System at the start of 2025, reportedly designed to reduce plastic consumption by up to 60%, save time, cut costs, and significantly reduce businesses’ carbon footprint and Scope 3 emissions. Combining nano technology films manufactured by Zeus and a global agreement with Noxon on custom fit pallet wrapping machinery, fitted specific data collection sensors incorporated into the machinery provide real-time data into the Apollo monitoring software.
A few months later, Ranpak integrated PaperWrap’s pallet wrapping machines, which replace plastic stretch film with a kraft paper alternative from Mondi, into its portfolio – aspiring to enhance efficiency and lower greenhouse gas emissions in transit. The machinery is said to fit ‘seamlessly’ into customers’ existing operations, including warehouse layout, ergonomics, and throughput demands.
