Capri Sun has revealed a limited-edition Big Pouch, said to be nine inches tall, twice as wide and hold roughly three times the amount of juice compared to a standard pouch.
Available exclusively through Walmart from September 21st, the brand claims that in recent years 80% of consumers have asked for a bigger size. Apparently, the new pouch is a test-and-learn experiment to gauge demand, with consumers encouraged to share their feedback using the hashtag #CapriSunBigPouch.
The release of the Big Pouch builds on Capri Sun’s other recent limited-edition drops such as its Capri Sun Straw Pops, with the brand aiming to find new ways to develop the drink’s experience for consumers. The new pouches are due to be released in a series of daily drops for $6 (around €5) while supplies last.
In other pouch packaging news, Südpack has launched a recyclable, mono-material polypropylene (PP) flexible pouch aimed at the drinkable yoghurt market. The company’s CarbonLite PurePP material used for the pouch is said to have proven sealing performance, secure spout integration, leak tightness and reliability.
In the food packaging space, print, packaging and marketing company SunDance has expanded its Pouch flexible packaging solution into the cereal market, offering an alternative to the traditional bag-in-box format. According to SunDance, the solution uses approximately 30% to 40% less material than conventional stand-up pouches and can be produced using recyclable and post-consumer recycled film structures, depending on product and performance requirements.
