PACKAGING IN A CHANGING WORLD: THE ESSENTIAL PLATFORM FOR LEADERS AND INNOVATORS
The Sustainable Packaging Summit has created a different kind of event, with a mission to bring together leaders and thinkers from within and outside industry to focus on the dilemmas and barriers on our pathway to sustainable transformation. Building on the momentum of the community that has formed around the Summit, the 2023 edition returns with a wider scope, multiple streams, more attendees – and bigger ambitions.
Taking place in Amsterdam on 14-15 November 2023, the Sustainable Packaging Summit will sharpen the focus on the demands and pain points revealed during last year’s ground-breaking series of discussions in Lisbon. Addressing key objectives we must come together to meet, the summit again provides the platform for value chain leaders to frankly discuss strategic roadblocks and identify opportunities to align business, regulation and society around a circular, net zero packaging ecosystem.
MULTIPLE STREAMS
In parallel with high-level panels, keynotes (including P&G’s Chief Sustainability Officer, Virginie Helias) and break-out discussions, this year’s Summit will be expanded to incorporate additional streams with a focus on the technological dimension of sustainability in packaging. ‘Innovation Horizon’ (held last year as a stand-alone event) will illuminate the next generation of packaging materials and technologies needed to accelerate positive environmental impacts. Featuring start-ups, investors and international R&D leadership, the program will both explore how to meet the innovation agenda and spotlight key technological opportunities. The combined event will also showcase the finalists (and reveal the winners) of the global Sustainability Awards – the described as the ‘Nobel prize’ for sustainable packaging innovation. In addition, delegates will have unrestricted access to the co-located AIPIA Active and Intelligent Packaging World Congress, showcasing the cutting-edge smart technologies that can drive circularity, transparency and waste reduction throughout the supply chain.
Together, these complementary programs make up the essential platform for leaders and pioneers in FMCG, packaging and sustainability. The year’s unmissable opportunity for learning, collaboration and networking, mobilizing FMCG leaders, innovators, NGOs, regulators, recyclers, investors and entrepreneurs.
ABOUT THE SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING SUMMIT
We believe that a net zero, circular packaging ecosystem requires system-level change and new mindsets. Planned in consultation with its Advisory Board and harnessing the insights from Packaging Europe’s year-round engagement with the FMCG packaging value chain, the Sustainable Packaging Summit was conceived as a different kind of event: drawing together a community of sustainability leaders determined to align around effective strategies, unlock investment, and identify the opportunities. Focusing on carefully defined objectives and driving impact, not self-congratulation. A summit, not a conference.
The Sustainable Packaging Summit takes place at the Beurs van Berlage, central Amsterdam, on 14-15 November 2023. Delegates can access the Summit, Innovation Horizon stream, Sustainability Awards dinner and AIPIA World Congress.
