Sidel has unveiled EvoFILL PET, its fastest filler for water and still beverages – intended to optimize output, hygiene and flexibility with its redesigned filling valve, advanced fluid-dynamics engineering, and compact design.
EvoFILL PET’s filling valve has been redesigned in line with an in-depth fluid dynamics study, and it is intended to optimize product flow during the filling process. Apparently, this has increased the filling speed by up to 20% and achieves outputs of up to 90,000 bottles per hour in compact spaces.
Volumetric flowmeter control and a no-contact filling principle have been implemented into the valve to simplify operations, improve overall hygiene, and preserve beverage quality. Optimized cleaning operations are set to reduce downtime, water usage, and chemical consumption.
Additionally, the filler targets faster and more efficient cleaning with fewer components and surfaces to clean, automatic CIP dummy cups, and shorter internal and external cleaning cycles.
EvoFILL PET’s no-base layout is thought to reduce its footprint by up to 15% compared to previous designs. In turn, this is expected to improve line integration and save floor space in the filling hall.
Key areas like the external caps buffer and roof HEPA filters are designed to be more accessible. This is hoped to streamline maintenance tasks, improve ergonomics, and boost safety and efficiency for line operators and maintenance teams.
Additionally, Sidel offers EvoFILL PET in stand-alone, Combi, and Super Combi layouts. This is anticipated to help producers tailor the configuration to their requirements and facilitate upgrades as portfolios and volumes evolve.
The functional and flavoured water segment is forecasted to grow at a CAGR of 3.7% between 2024 and 2028 in line with increasing health consciousness, lifestyle changes, and rising incomes.
This is expected to drive profitability and brand innovation across the market, and EvoFILL PET is hoped to address increasing pressure on companies to increase their output while maintaining high hygiene and sustainability standards.
“Sidel’s new EvoFILL PET has been engineered to help customers increase output while simplifying operations and maintaining the highest standards of beverage protection, delivering performance without compromise”, says Tommaso Tegoni, product manager Filling at Sidel. “With fast and easy automatic changeovers, the extended lifespan of key components and optimised total cost of ownership, the EvoFILL PET is designed to deliver long‑term value alongside high performance.”
The news comes after Sibeg, The Coca-Cola Company’s Sicily-based bottler, installed a complete aseptic PET line featuring Sidel’s Aseptic Combi Predis, EvoFilm Stretch, and PalKombi machines. The technology is intended to package sensitive products in-house while reducing plastic and energy consumption.
Elsewhere, WeighPack Systems has released its High-Speed Rigid Container Weigh Filling System for food, cannabis, snack, nutraceutical, hardware and specialty product manufacturers. The new system is designed to reach speeds of up to 150 rigid containers per minute while ensuring gentle handling and precise weight accuracy.
