Mondi and CMC Packaging Automation have announced a strategic partnership, aiming to develop packaging solutions that deliver ‘customer benefits’ including enhanced product quality and improved sustainability.
Mondi has been designated as the preferred kraft paper partner for CMC machines. The companies say they hope to ‘disrupt the market’ with packaging alternatives, building synergies between CMC’s packaging on-demand technology and Mondi’s kraft paper products.
Mondi states its paper products such as Advantage eCom Kraft, EcoVantage eCom Mailer Pro and EcoVantage eCom Mailer are crafted to operate on CMC machines, targeting peak performance and efficiency. The collaboration is focused on crafting packaging materials that curtail environmental impact and enhance the overall packaging process.
Luigi Russo, general manager of CMC Packaging Automation, said: “This partnership enhances our machine performance and enables us to provide our customers with responsible and sustainable e-commerce packaging solutions that meet the highest performance requirements and standards. After successful trials with Mondi kraft paper on our machines, we are confident in its exceptional runability, ensuring our customers receive a seamless and efficient solution.”
Earlier this month Mondi launched FlexiBag Reinforced, a range of recyclable, mono-PE-based packaging solutions with improved mechanical properties. The bags have been created in-house by Mondi and are said to be recyclable where collection facilities and recycling systems for PE films are in place.
In similar news, H-Pack has developed standalone, premium containers made of kraft paper with accompanying PET lids, gearing them towards high-end hot and cold foods. The packs are expected to be utilized by higher-end players in the food-to-go market, such as delis, farm shops, farmers’ markets, and specialist, upmarket food retail outlets.
