Lecta has introduced its Creaset GP PFAS-Free FP paper, a high-performance, one-side coated gloss paper for flexible packaging applications, said to combine premium grease resistance with ‘excellent’ flexibility and printability.
The company says Creaset GP PFAS-Free FP is specifically developed for flexible packaging applications where both grease resistance and flexibility are essential. Lecta adds that its high gloss finish seeks to enhance the packaging’s aesthetic appeal, while its PFAS-free formulation aligns with growing regulatory and consumer demands for safer, more sustainable packaging materials.
The development of Creaset GP PFAS-Free FP is part of Lecta’s broader sustainability commitment. By removing PFAS from the formulation, Lecta hopes to help its partners respond proactively to emerging regulations and consumer preferences.
In July, Lecta announced the expansion of its Metalvac range with the Metalvac Seal Oxygen Barrier, a metallized barrier paper aiming to meet industry demands for technical performance, industrial efficiency and sustainability. Available in weights of 83 and 93 gsm, the paper can be printed in offset, flexography and rotogravure on its coated side, and its metallized backside is heat sealable.
Earlier this year, YUTOECO revealed its plant-based FluoZero solution, said to withstand temperatures from -34°C to 220°C and be suitable for applications including frozen food packaging, airline meals, and high-temperature food containers for fried foods. FluoZero-treated products are said to have a dense physical structure that effectively resists grease and temperature resistance capabilities that maintain long-term protection (8 hours).
