C&T Matrix has announced its platen cleaner die-cutting solution, a reusable device designed to remove contamination from platen surfaces and help converters maintain optimum machine performance.
The cleaner is designed to tackle challenges in carton-converting environments such as carton board dust, oil residue, oxidation and rust. The solution aims to remove accumulated deposits without compromising platen integrity and restore platens to a clean, smooth working condition.
The company says only the cleaning pads of the solution need to be replaced, aiming to deliver a more efficient production process with less downtime and improved machine productivity. The device can also be used alongside an endoscope camera probe to provide complete visibility during the cleaning process.
Howard Mead, global sales director at C&T Matrix, commented: “The condition of the platen has a direct impact on die-cutting performance, yet it is often overlooked. Our Platen Cleaner provides converters with a practical and cost-effective way to remove years of contamination and can be used as part of regular maintenance.”
In related news, earlier this month Plockmatic Group unveiled its ColorCut FB9550 Pro-T die cutter, designed to maximize productivity and deliver ‘ultimate’ material control with its 5-tool head and process thin self-adhesive labels and media up to 3mm thick for folders, packaging, point of sale and labels. Its tool head allows up to 3 concurrent operations and the tool slots can apply up to 2.5kg of force, suitable for active tangential operations or highlighting features on the page with a special effect deboss.
Koenig & Bauer has revealed its new CutPRO 2.1 flatbed die-cutter for corrugated board processing, jointly developed within the Group and specifically designed for production stability and high reliability in practical operation. To reduce unproductive downtime during make-ready and maintenance procedures, the machine is equipped with features including an automatic chain tensioner and improved waste routing within the die-cutter.
