OMG Bubble Tea has adopted Greiner Packaging’s K3 cups – complete with a separable cardboard sleeve and tear tab – for its ready-to-drink, on-the-go beverages.

While K3 cups have already been used to package dairy products and desserts, OMG Bubble Tea sought out a format that could be integrated directly into its existing packaging and production concept while maintaining the intended consumer experience.

“This project shows how important flexibility is when an existing packaging concept needs to be transferred to a new cup solution,” says Eliška Bednaříková, sales manager at Greiner Packaging. “Together with OMG Bubble Tea, we adapted our K3 cup to their specific requirements and supported a smooth integration into their established setup.”

The cup itself is made from polypropylene and EVOH, which is set to maintain the essential barrier properties and protect a drink throughout its shelf life. Greiner’s New Tear Tab helps consumers easily separate the cardboard wrap after use.

At the same time, the cup itself is designed to offer a premium look and feel on the shelf – a feature hoped to help OMG Bubble Tea stand out next to market competitors.

Together, the partners aimed to reflect the drink’s ‘playful beverage experience’, expand OMG’s presence on retail shelves, and enable growth across markets.

The 250ml Bubble Tea products have been sold across Europe and in the United States since the summer of 2025.

Greiner Packaging emphasizes its ability to collaborate with customers and adapt its packaging solutions to suit the requirements of individual products, brands and processes.

Previously, Greggs, Asda, Lidl, M&S, Tesco, Waitrose and Morrisons utilized Greiner’s self-separating K3 r100 solution to package their own-brand instant porridge products. This format does not require consumers to split the plastic and cardboard components manually, as they separate themselves during waste disposal.

In other news, Prism eLogistics recently revealed a fully recyclable sleeve for kefir brand Bio&Me. It utilizes EcoFloat shrink sleeving, which is specifically engineered to improve the sink/float separation process and enables the whole pack to be recycled through established polypropylene recycling streams.
