Signode has revealed a battery-powered hand tool for plastic strapping – a solution designed for cost-effective operations, consistent performance, and reduced operator fatigue.
The BXT Go strapping tool is suitable for both PET and PP strapping, and for 1/2-inch and 5/8-inch sizes. It features auto, semi and manual operating modes, with its user interface and controls designed to be simple and intuitive.
The tool contains a BOSCH 18V lithium-ion battery system that can reportedly charge to 80% in approximately 24 minutes. Including this battery, the BXT Go weighs 8.05 pounds; its optimized weight and balance are expected to improve operator comfort during daily use.
The solution also consists of metal and plastic components made from recycled and recyclable materials. According to Signode, these components are easy to replace.
BXT Go is intended for various applications across manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, and distribution.
“The BXT Go strapping tool was developed to meet customers’ mid-level strapping applications, complementing the BXT4 strapping tool, which is designed for a broad range of applications, including heavy-duty, high-tension use,” said Nicole Ostryzniuk, vice president of Global Tools at Signode. “Its features and lightweight design make it a practical and reliable handheld option for professionals seeking a balance between cost and productivity.
“As manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution operations continue to evaluate ways to support their sustainability objectives, there is growing demand for tools and equipment designed with product longevity and material considerations in mind. The BXT Go strapping tool is ideal for customers looking for a long-term, mid-level strapping solution.”
The development comes after Signode revealed its Octopus Prestige stretch wrapper late last year. Designed for high-volume operations, the machine is said to combine ‘record-breaking’ speed with improved reliability for end-of-line packaging.
In other news, Antalis Packaging has unveiled its Master’in Viper Hand Strapping Tool. This solution’s lightweight design is intended for ‘effortless’ handling in demanding warehouse environments, with its touch-sensitive interface aiming to simplify the strapping process for operators at every skill level.
