Amcor upfronts its range of rigid and flexible packaging solutions for de-icing salt, designed for easy pouring and storage, moisture protection in cold weather, and compatibility with up to 100% recycled plastic content.

Form-fill-seal and vertical-form-fill-seal formats are highlighted as a solution, with Amcor offering formats for 1kg – 25kg applications. These packs are designed for tear and puncture resistance, which is thought to help the films withstand ‘demanding’ handling in the winter.

They are believed to minimize clumping by implementing moisture protection. Customers can also opt for up to 50% recycled content, with the packs described as ‘recycle-ready’ at end-of-life.

Amcor also presents its SuperCube and SuperLift buckets. Both are believed to function in low temperatures and facilitate easy pouring, with a carry handle and resealable lid applied to each container.

The buckets are available in a rectangular shape for easy storage and stacking. Each is compatible with up to 100% post-consumer recycled content.

Also featured in the range is a lightweight jerry can with a Jeroboam closure. Its controlled, anti-glug dispense feature is set to facilitate a clean, constant product flow and enable easy refills.

Recommended for chemical applications, the pack is available with up to 50% post-consumer recycled content.

Additionally, Amcor’s all-plastic trigger pump comes with a plastic spring and bottle, made in polyethylene and polypropylene. It is available with up to 50% recycled content.

Customers can customize the pack with different nozzles, levers, and dip tubes, as well as a screw closure for refill solutions.

In other news, Packaging Europe previously spoke to Mr Rukmava Chatterjee from the University of Illinois Chicago about its range of coatings and industrial surfaces designed to prevent the formation of ice. These solutions are set to stop products from freezing inside their packaging in ultra-cold chain transport.

Berry Global and Everbrand also worked together to incorporate 50% post-consumer recycled plastic into the container for its IS-FRITT de-icing products. The pack is reportedly made from recyclable, lightweight mono-polypropylene.
