AM Labels has introduced an automatic packet feeding system hoping to reduce manual handling requirements and ensure a more efficient labelling process for use in food, pharmaceutical and consumer goods industries.
When connected to the LabelPack Label X JR wipe-on applicator, AM Labels says the combined system can automate the feeding of packets, pouches, cartons and boxes with label application in a single process. The packet feeding system is said to have an auto-gating system that allows pouch labelling with zip locks, improving the feeder labeller’s versatility.
The company adds that the packet feeder has a large hopper infeed and a variable speed control of up to 30 metres per minute, enabling handling of a range of packet sizes and thicknesses. Apparently, the quick-set hopper guides reduce the setup time and simplify the process of changing material types.
AM Labels states the feeder labeller has a compact footprint and design with customizable configurations for a various application needs. The Label X JR applicator is designed for labels with a maximum width of 140 mm and lengths of up to 350 mm, as well as label rolls with a diameter of up to 300 mm. The company adds that the applicator also features automatic label recovery and a liner break alarm that alerts users to any faults with the line.
In January, Fedrigoni announced its new Wet-Glue label collection, intended for use in the gourmet food, beverage, and wine and spirits industries. The collection includes wet-strength papers made from virgin, alternative, and recycled fibres, said to have high barrier properties, printability, and visual impact.
Fujifilm recently revealed that its on-demand metallization ECOLEAF solution is now compatible with ACTEGA’s 46kUV Inkjet Printbar, aiming to unlock ‘a fully digital, higher resolution process’ for embellishing labels and negating the need for foil reels or PET carrier films. ACTEGA’s Printbar is set to increase the accuracy of the metallization process from 600dpi to 1200dpi and improve the flexibility and immediacy of short notice production.
