Aptar Beauty’s new, all-plastic cosmetic pump is designed to withstand e-commerce deliveries and maximize recyclability in hair and body care applications.
Novus Advance features a cartridge made from polypropylene and polyethylene. Aptar Beauty emphasizing its full recyclability in the PET and PE streams when paired with a high-density polyethylene or PET bottle.
Customers can also opt for a POM-free version and integrate post-consumer recycled resin.
The pump’s cap-free design and twist-to-lock mechanism are set to streamline the opening and closing processes, ensuring that each is easy, effortless and secure.
Designed for compatibility with most formulations, including those with short-chain alkanes, Novus Advance features a robust bellow technology outside the dosage chamber.
The pump adapts from low to high viscosities and facilitates consistent dispensing of 500 μl and 350 μl doses of oils, creams, and serums in body, sun, and hair care applications.
Novus Advance has reportedly passed Aptar Beauty’s in-house ISTA-6 testing protocols for omnichannel packaging needs.
This marks an expansion of Aptar Beauty’s Advance Collection of all-plastic pumps, which also include the GSA Advance dispensing pump and PZ Advance spray pump.
“Novus Advance is another step in our continued focus on ensuring our products continue to support circular economy efforts,” says Luigi Garofalo, global category director Personal Care & Home Care, Aptar Beauty. “We plan to expand this innovative full-polyolefin collection to other dosages and applications to facilitate this sustainable transition for brands.”
The reveal comes after Aptar Beauty’s collaboration with L’Occitane En Provence to develop fully custom dispensing pumps for its rebranded hand care packaging. The 350ml and 500ml bottles are available in both glass and plastic and have been made refillable to extend the product life cycles.
In other news, ALPLA has unveiled its new mono-polypropylene material foam dispenser for the personal care and pharma sectors. It is said to deliver an optimized, controlled dose.
