In this edition of the Spotlight, IFE Manufacturing tells us about the IFE Manufacturing 2024 event, part of Food, Drink & Hospitality Week, which returns to ExCeL London on 25-27 March packed with invaluable industry insights, networking opportunities and quality packaging suppliers.
IFE Manufacturing is the event for brand owners and manufacturers to source the latest packaging, ingredients, technology and manufacturing solutions, with over 27,000 industry professionals set to arrive at the show as part of Food, Drink & Hospitality Week.
With suppliers including packaging brands, ingredients companies, labelling and compliance agencies, IFE Manufacturing is a must-attend event for anyone interested in food and drink production.
Topics under the microscope on the show’s Trends & Innovation Platform this year will include the disruptive forces impacting the world of food & drink, the AI revolution, changing attitudes to ultra processed foods, building more resilient supply chains and the projected impact of rising prices on consumers in 2024.
The session ‘Bringing reuse to the masses’ will see WRAP plastics sector specialist Lowelle Bryan host a discussion on the future growth of reuse and refill, joined by Catherine Conway, director and reuse lead at GoUnpackaged, and Julien Tremblin, general manager for TerraCycle Europe.
Later, Cressida Langlands of the Free From Food Awards will moderate a panel entitled ‘Decoding the minefield of ‘May contain’’ and dive into the intricacies of allergen labelling with BRCGS head of programmes Angela O’Donovan, This Way Up Design founder Chris White and Julianne Ponan MBE, founder of Creative Nature.
Mark Thompson, co-founder of Edinburgh-based insight and innovation company TRKR, and panellist for the session ‘Ultra Processed Foods: What is all the fuss about?’ says: “I’m looking forward to attending IFE Manufacturing and sharing my thoughts and views on the topic of ultra-processed foods.
“It’s an important topic as whilst many of the foods that fall under the umbrella of ‘ultra-processed’ are everyday staples for most consumers, a loaf of bread for example, the very fact that these items are part of our weekly diet means that as an industry, we need a measured and informed approach to tackling their uptake.”
Elsewhere at the show, visitors will have the opportunity to meet with a wide range of packaging suppliers including TEO UK Packaging Limited, with its Bag in Box packaging system, Magnum Packaging (N.E) Ltd, with bespoke catering, polythene and paper products, and Glassworks International, a leading UK specialist in manufacture, supply, design and support for food-grade quality glass bottles and jars.
IFE Manufacturing will also welcome recyclable packaging leader Universal Flexible Packaging, MM Packaging UK, Europe’s largest folding carton producer, and luxury packaging company Stribbons.
IFE Manufacturing takes place alongside IFE, The Pub Show, HRC and International Salon Culinaire as part of Food, Drink & Hospitality Week. To take part in the UK’s biggest celebration of industry innovation, and to register for your complimentary trade ticket, visit ifemanufacturing.co.uk.
