Boxmaker.Pro has launched SSG1600, a compact side-seam gluer for short-run corrugated box production, hand-glued operations, sample work and more.
The SSG1600 is intended for packaging producers, box makers, and sheet plants looking to reduce labour on straight-line side seam applications and improve consistency – all without tying up a main folder-gluer for smaller, more awkward jobs.
Among the typical applications are short-run straight-line side seam work, samples, rework, specials, overflow jobs, and applications where a consistent glue line is necessary but a larger folder-gluer is not the most practical option.
Optional taping heads are also available for applications such as tear tape or peel-and-seal.
“There are still a lot of awkward short-run and hand-glued jobs in the market,” says Simon Needham of Boxmaker.Pro. “The SSG1600 is intended to give box makers a simple, affordable way to handle those jobs more consistently without overcomplicating the process.”
The SSG1600 can be viewed and tested at Boxmaker.Pro’s demo facility in Wiltshire, UK. Customers can send sample blanks, photos, drawings, or dimensions for a suitability check, and can choose to receive demonstrations in person or via video.
In other news, Baumer hhs previously revealed its Side Seam Gluing Solution for straight-line box production. Intended to reduce waste and water use, the solution replaces glue wheel units with high-performance application heads to apply glue from below.
Since then, Robatech has unveiled its Sirius pattern control solution for cold glue and hot melt applications – designed to unlock integrated pattern monitoring and ‘maximum’ flexibility and efficiency.
ACMI has also unveiled its Opera Omnia labeller, designed for fast, easy and automated applications including roll-fed, cold glue, self-adhesive, hot melt, and combined labelling. Compared to the previous model, Opera Omina cuts down on floor space requirements, unlocks in-line integration, and streamlines installation with plug-and-play technology.
