The German adhesive tape manufacturer monta has launched the new monta biopack®: Described as the first certified sustainable self-adhesive tape made in Germany. monta biopack® is made of around 90% renewable resources.

The company says that the film is biobased, the rubber adhesive consists of predominantly renewable raw materials. Under industrial composting conditions, the adhesive tape biodegrades within a few months. It meets the strict requirements regarding compostability, biodegradability, ecotoxicity and material properties of standards DIN EN 13432, ASTM D 6400-04, AS 4736 (2006) and ISO 17088 (2012).

monta biopack® is suitable for many applications. The carrier is robust with low elongation, its natural rubber adhesive ensure adhesion to varied surfaces. The adhesive tape is tearable by hand and easy to unwind and apply. With a temperature range of -30°C to short-term +70°C, monta biopack® is suitable for permanent closure of medium heavy to heavy cardboard boxes or sealing biodegradable bags and films or bundling flowers or garden waste, and can also be used in packaging machines.
