Supply chain AI platform Wiliot and testing and measurement solutions company CISC have partnered to support high-volume functional testing of Wiliot’s battery-free Internet of Things (IoT) Pixels for labels.

CISC has optimized its BLE Xplorer testing solution for Wiliot’s IoT Pixels and integrated the solution with the Wiliot Physical AI platform. The solution can be incorporated into reel-to-reel production equipment or deployed as a dedicated offline tester, aiming to give label and tag manufacturers a standardized testing capability that accommodates a range of production environments.

Wiliot states that its Physical AI platform creates a ‘continuous, scan-free sensing layer’ across supply chains using battery-free Bluetooth IoT Pixels that harvest energy from ambient radio waves. The platform processes signals using AI and machine learning models, turning granular data on location, temperature, humidity, movement, dwell time and other conditions into real-time intelligence and automated workflows.

The company says expanding production capacity for IoT Pixels will support broader deployment of Wiliot applications including Inventory Intelligence, Automated Shipment Verification, Reusable Asset Tracking, and Temperature Monitoring. The applications are designed to help organizations improve inventory accuracy, protect sensitive products, automate workflows, reduce waste and optimize reusable assets across retail, grocery, food and beverage, post-and-parcel, logistics and transportation.

Wiliot adds that testing infrastructure is one of the most complex elements of establishing a new production line for IoT Pixels, requiring suppliers to develop custom equipment and processes before manufacturing can begin. CISC’s BLE Xplorer provides a repeatable testing approach that can accelerate supplier onboarding and expand global manufacturing capacity.

According to CISC, the BLE Explorer can achieve testing speeds of up to 6,500 units per hour per lane, on a single-station basis. The system enables manufacturers to test 100% of production output as it assigns an individual pass-or-fail result to every unit.

The BLE Xplorer can also have multiple testing stations operating in parallel as production volumes and equipment configurations evolve. The solution’s interface with the Wiliot Physical AI platform seeks to help manufacturers identify nonfunctioning IoT Pixels before they advance through the production process, recording test results at the unit level.

Apparently, specialized antenna configurations isolate the unit under test in dense production environments, helping ensure that each result corresponds to the correct IoT Pixels. When testing throughput does not align with the operating speed of conversion machinery, manufacturers can deploy BLE Xplorer as a dedicated offline testing system.

CISC says that the BLE Xplorer can synchronize with production machinery, support automated sorting or marking based on test results and record production data for each unit. The company is due to begin pre-sales for BLE Xplorer in September 2026, with the first customer deliveries scheduled for the end of Q3-2026.

In related news, in April Avery Dennison announced a $75 million minority investment in Wiliot, aiming to scale investment in physical AI for supply chains. The two companies state they will ‘significantly strengthen and expand’ their joint go-to-market efforts to accelerate the adoption of digital identities on physical items across industries including retail, logistics and food.

Identiv recently revealed its new range of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) inlays and labels, made with Wiliot’s Gen3 IC technology and seeking to enable organizations to continuously sense, track and understand the state of their goods across complex supply chains. The new inlays and labels are designed for high-volume deployments across industries including retail, logistics, pharmaceuticals, food, and smart packaging.
