TekniPlex Consumer Products has introduced a new PCR dip tube in European markets that can be made of up to 100% post-consumer recycled content.

Designed for use in industrial aerosol and household cleaning product applications, the company says that its ProTecFlow dip tube offers a reduced environmental impact compared to dispensing tubing products made from virgin materials, while maintaining the same high-quality performance characteristics.

“Consumers are increasingly calling on brand owners to provide more eco-friendly products and packaging,” said Dirk De Mulder, sales director for the liners business in Europe and Asia.

“Producing dip tubing with virgin materials is an energy-intensive process. A dip tube made of PCR reduces both natural resources usage and overall environmental impact. ProTecFlow is an example of our commitment to supporting a circular economy model.”

TekniPlex produces the new dip tube at its facilities in Belgium and Italy. The company says that it sources the high-quality PCR resin in Europe from a local supplier, and plans to secure a local supplier in the U.S. to guarantee the global availability of its new innovation.

“We are working with local suppliers to reduce our environmental impact and shorten lead times for customers,” said De Mulder. “In addition, our local supplier provides consistent, high-quality resin from a large volume of available materials, allowing us to deliver on our promise of supply consistency and security.”
