Sparck Technologies, which is the new name for Packaging by Quadient, says its CVP Everest and CVP Impack automated fit-to-size packaging systems eliminate the need for void fill while boosting efficiency across e-commerce applications.

According to the company, the CVP Everest and CVP Impack Packaging Systems can tailor-make 1,100 packages per hour for multiple or single items. The automated solution means that packaging can be filled, folded, and labelled in one process, reportedly reducing packaging volumes by up to 50% and cutting cardboard usage by 30%, while eliminating the need for void fill.

Sparck Technologies says that the CVP Everest and CVP Impack are aimed at e-commerce operations facing challenges such as increasing order volumes, labour shortages, and rising shipping costs.

The online shopping market will be valued at €21 billion by 2024, according to Mintel, with companies like Sparck Technologies seeking to provide solutions to challenges across the supply chain exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jo Bradley, business development manager for Sparck Technologies in the UK, comments: “Many e-commerce businesses are facing escalating challenges when it comes to building capacity within their fulfilment operations.

“This has become particularly acute this autumn with so many sectors now competing for finite labour resources, making it difficult for e-commerce businesses to plan for their Christmas peak season with any confidence.

“Our technology goes a long way to solving many of those issues and this show presents a fantastic opportunity for us to engage with those businesses on ways for driving productivity and performance in their packing and dispatch operations.”

In addition, the automated packaging systems can be installed in more than 13 countries, according to the company. Sparck Technologies claims that its systems can offer reliability, speed, and precision to a number of retail and e-commerce businesses.

Sparck Technologies are set to display the CVP Everest and CVP Impack at the Robotics & Automation show taking place on the 2nd and 3rd of November 2021 at the CBS Arena in Coventry, UK. The company will be at Stand 508.
