Siegwerk has revealed its cloud-based colour management solution, COLORWERK FastMatch Cloud - combining ink formulation, colour correction and quality control - developed in collaboration with X-Rite Pantone.
The system aims to help printers and converters achieve ‘fast, accurate and consistent’ colour results across multiple presses, locations, and production processes. The companies say that FastMatch Cloud enables centralized colour data management and standardized ink recipes through a secure cloud database accessible 24/7 via any web browser.
They add that it supports ink formulations based on multiple applications, customer-specific tolerances and selected colorant assortments. It fully integrates with X-Rite Pantone solutions including PantoneLIVE to maintain up to date digital colour libraries and industry standards.
FastMatch Cloud can also use press-returned ink in new matches or batches, minimizing aged ink inventory and reducing cost and space. Powered by X-Rite Pantone technology, the system apparently delivers formula calculations in under 20 seconds – a 50% speed increase compared to previous systems.
Siegwerk is due to demonstrate the FastMatch Cloud system at booth 1024 at LOUPE Americas in Chicago from September 15–17, 2026.
In other news, Sun Chemical expanded its nitrocellulose-alternative inks portfolio for flexible packaging applications earlier this year, designed to support converters, retailers, and consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies. The inks aim to address the challenges of solvent-based inks and coatings containing nitrocellulose while being fully compatible with recycling processes, in line with RecyClass and CEFLEX design guidelines.
More recently, Domino Printing Sciences revealed the Domino Cx150i, a direct-to-box piezo inkjet printer for coding onto porous substrates with ink made from vegetable oil. The Cx150i is designed to offer optimal footprint, lower maintenance needs, and operational efficiency.
