Berry Global (Berry) has provided cleaning company Vamoosh with a solution for its Plug Hole Unblocker, said to have the required strength and robustness to handle the product’s specialist chemicals.
To meet Vamoosh’s requirements, Berry says it conducted research and testing which found that traditional PET and HDPE materials did not meet the strength and robustness requirements for the Unblocker. The company incorporated an Environmental Stress Crack Resistant (ESCR) additive and increased the thickness of its 600ml Alpha bottle, with a 52g weight selected as the optimal solution.
According to Berry, bottles in three different weights were sent for customer trials before the development of the tooling template, enabling Vamoosh to make an informed decision and minimise costs. The neck of the bottle has reportedly been adapted to fit a standard CRC cap, to ensure the pack meets regulatory requirements.
Joe Horton, Sales and Marketing Director at Berry Global, said: “We were committed to delivering a fit for purpose pack and fast-to-market launch for Vamoosh. The result is a packaging solution that not only meets the company’s stringent requirements but also showcases how our global network and technical and design capabilities help us to achieve seamless integration and high-quality results.”
Berry recently worked with performance lubricants manufacturer Green Oil to create its bottle and cap solution made from post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic. Berry tailored and supplied an existing standard bottle at low minimum order quantities, also ensuring the orifice was the correct size for controlled flow of the lubricants.
Koor introduced its reusable bottle in January, designed to package edible and non-food products with a syringe-like refill mechanism and replaceable parts. Intended for use in settings including home, schools and workplaces, the bottle is made from food-grade polypropylene to ensure its durability, reusability, and ease of cleaning.
