ESKA brown

Antalis has introduced its 100% recycled and PVC-free Eska Brown to its paperboard range, designed to offer a kraft finish for point-of-sale (POS) and display applications.

Available in 3mm thickness and measuring 2440mm x 1220mm, the company says Eska Brown is suitable for a variety of indoor applications including POS signage, displays, hangers, and luxury packaging. It can also be used for creating lever arch files, ring binders, and notebooks.

According to Antalis the Eska Brown range is compatible with UV inkjet, screen and latex printing. It can be die-cut, finished to any shape, and comes with certifications including FSC, REACH, and the EcoVadis Gold Medal. It is also food-safe and compliant with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.

Paul Neale, product manager at Antalis, comments: “Antalis continues to extend its sustainable product portfolio with the launch of Eska Kraft, a coloured display board in large format sheet sizes to support customers to achieve that ‘sustainable look’ for their display applications. The unique solid kraft finish throughout, made from 100% recycled fibres, means there are no white edges left on display.”

In January, Antalis stated it had tested and re-engineered a customer’s shipping cartons to achieve a 33% reduction in packaging materials, also resulting in a CO2 emissions reduction of 21 tonnes per year. Packaging technologists at Antalis’ Smart Packaging Centre (SPC) aimed to minimize the use of corrugated board in the shipping cartons – one small and one large – without compromising performance, conducting tests to establish the performance capabilities and make-up of the cartons.

More recently, the company unveiled its white and coloured polypropylene range, Priplak R30, containing 30% post-industrial recycled content and intended for applications including packaging, labels and point-of-sale displays. The range is designed for tear-resistance, durability throughout a long life span and reusability.
