This year Packaging Europe has pioneered connections with counterparts in China. This began when our brand director Tim Sykes visited China as a guest of NM Packaging Success Platform, a company that is promoting green innovation for China’s vast CPG sector, who generously introduced him to several leading Chinese enterprises. Tim returned to Europe with a greater appreciation of how quickly sustainability is growing as a driver in China, and of the scale of technical advancement and innovation capabilities of an industry that has been supplying global and domestic brands for decades.
Off the back of this trip, Packaging Europe also concluded a partnership agreement with NM Packaging Success Platform, which will bring a Chinese delegation to the Sustainable Packaging Summit this month in Utrecht, aimed at nurturing better Europe-China dialogue, education and collaboration opportunities. In this special report, we hear from leading Chinese companies about the packaging sustainability landscape today in China, and introduce some of the enterprises that will be exhibiting at the Sustainable Packaging Summit on 10-12 November.
