Gerresheimer’s top highlight at this year’s LuxePack trade fair is opal glass. Many of Gerresheimer’s high-profile customers rely on the cool and glossy elegance of the white glass to market their cosmetics and fragrances.
However, other high-quality products can also make an impact in eye-catching bottles and jars made from opal glass. A new furnace for opal glass will also ensure that the glass retains its high quality in the future. Only recently, Mäurer & Wirtz, one of Gerresheimer’s most important customers, honored the company with its “Best Supplier Award.”
“Opal glass is currently experiencing a remarkable revival,” explains Bernd Stauch, Senior Director Sales Cosmetics. “Not only has it been discovered by the fragrance and cosmetics sector, but it is also ideal for bottling high-quality spirits, for example, such as the stylish bottle used for ‘Generous Gin.’” The Gerresheimer Group’s opal glass furnace is located at Gerresheimer Momignies in Belgium. Recently overhauled, it is equipped with enhanced technology and is more environmentally friendly than its predecessor.
Gerresheimer wins Mäurer & Wirtz’s “Best Supplier Award”
This year, Gerresheimer was awarded the “Best Supplier Award” by its customer Mäurer & Wirtz. For seven years, the company has evaluated its suppliers in order to identify areas of development and particular successes of the partnerships. “Gerresheimer is an important partner for our house of perfumes and impressed us with its outstanding commitment and absolute reliability last year,” said Michael Reimes, Head of Procurement Packaging and Indirect Spend at Mäurer & Wirtz, explaining the company’s choice at the award ceremony in May. “We would like to thank you for the excellent business relationship we enjoy and look forward to building on this further in the future.”
