Packaging company Northern Paper Board, of Skipton, has used Joda Freight, of nearby Cross Hills, for its UK-wide distribution since the late1980s, when the two firms were first established. They have now committed to work together until 2015, an agreement representing up to £1m worth of business.
Joda Freight has acquired a new urban trailer, one of several permanently based at Northern Paper Board’s headquarters that take to the road once fully loaded, with the potential to deliver up to five loads per day.
In the year ending April, 2012, Joda Freight delivered an estimated 12,500 pallets on behalf of Northern Paper Board, weighing in excess of 25,000 tonnes throughout the UK.
Northern Paper Board director Paul Curran said: “Having trailers ready to hit the road when fully freighted is a major advantage for us."
Northern Paper Board continues to experience sturdy year-on-year growth and is now the UK’s second largest manufacturer of solid board boxes for the food processing industry, primarily the meat, poultry, fish and horticultural packaging sectors.
The company has invested £1.8m in plant and equipment and in the current financial year will invest a further £600,000 on automated machinery. This year, the firm achieved the internationally recognised ISO 9001:2008 quality accreditation.
